ITINERARY: INTERNATIONAL CHOIR COMPETITION TOUR OF EUROPE December 2012. 

Day 1: (Sunday, 2 December 2012) - Cape Town to Budapest, Vienna or Prague 

Departure from Cape Town / Johannesburg for Europe 

Day 2: (Monday, 3 December 2012) - Budapest 

Breakfast 

Budapest is the capital city of Hungary. With parks full of charming pleasures, museums that will inspire, and a pulsating nightlife that is on par with its European counterparts, Budapest is one of Europe's most delightful and enjoyable cities. Thanks to the perfect location, inhabitants' hospitality and memorable monuments it is called "Little Paris of Central Europe" and "Pearl of the Danube”. 

Afternoon: Orientation walk – time to explore. 

Overnight: The Best Western Hotel in Budapest 4* or similar hotel. 

Welcoming Dinner 

Day 3: (Tuesday, 4 December 2012) : Budapest 

Breakfast. 

Visit to the world renowned Szechseniy Thermal Spa – an experience not to be missed especially during the winter snow time. 

Time at leisure to further explore Budapest and for shopping.

Day 4: (Wednesday, 5 December 2012) : Budapest 

Breakfast 

All day city tour of Budapest, including a visit to historical buildings of the Franz Liszt Academy or Bela Bartok Conservatory. 

Sightseeing tour of the Old City Centre, Royal Palace, Chain Bridge, Church of St Mathias and Parliament. Afternoon at leisure to further explore Budapest. Oldest underground middle of Europe. 

Shopping.

Day 5: (Thursday, 6 December 2012) : Budapest – Vienna – Bratislava

VII. International Festival of Advent and Christmas Music 

FESTIVAL PROGRAMME 

• 7 pm Opening concert for the participating choirs, Jesuit Church 

After breakfast we depart by coach to Vienna and Bratislava, the capital of Slovakia, 60 km away – an ancient city built on the cross roads of Europe. 

We depart on a all day city tour for an overall impression of the most significant sights of Vienna. Along the Ringstrasse we show you numerous magnificent buildings, such as the MAK, the State Opera House, the Museum of Fine Arts and the Natural History Museum, the cultural district, the Museumsquarter, the former Habsburg winter residence, the Hofburg, the Parliament, the City Hall and the Burgtheater. En 

route we stop for a visit to the Schönbrunn Palace on the outskirts of Vienna, birth place of Marie-Antoinette.

Day 6: (Friday, 7 December 2012) : Bratislava 

Breakfast 

Bratislava sightseeing 

In Bratislava we embark on a tour of the historic centre of this city and visit an open market with local Slovak art. Saint Martin Church – Coronation place of Maria Teresa, Slavin – cemetery and memorial soldiers - World War 2, Castle, Parliament, Michal Gate, Old Square. 

Dinner 

Overnight : Bratislava DANUBE PARK INN Hotel 4* or 3* 

 Choir concerts and performances at the stage of Christmas markets at Hviezdoslav Square 

 7 pm Advent concert of the participating choirs, Jesuit church 

 

Day 7: (Saturday, 8 December 2012) : Bratislava 

Breakfast 

• 10 am - 6 pm Competition in individual categories 

• 6 pm Competition results announcement, diplomas and prizes awarding 

• 7 pm Social evening for choir leaders

Overnight Bratislava DANUBE PARK INN Hotel 4* or 3* 

Day 8: (Sunday, 9 December 2012) : : Bratislava 

• Choir performances during Holy Masses in Bratislava churches 

Fun with snow and all winter activities.

Day 9: (Monday, 10 December 2012) : Bratislava – Prague 

After breakfast we leave Bratislava and travel by luxury train (+-5 hours) to Prague in Czech Republic or luxury bus 

Arrive in the stunningly beautiful city of Prague – especially so in spring - built on seven hills and the capital of the Czech Republic, rich in culture, music, architecture and history, its panoramic skyline etched with towers and spires of cathedrals, monasteries and castles.

Day 10: (Tuesday, 11 December 2012) : Prague 

After breakfast it is time for a half day city tour of Prague to see the golden city’s most important and interesting sights. After passing the impressive State Opera and the National Museum we cross the famous Wenceslas Square and the Vltava River to the Hradčany, the Castle District, home to Prague Castle, the oldest of the city’s landmarks. 

Visit famous unique Jewish cemetery witnesses of II. World War 

from Fascism Camp in Europe Centrum of Prague 

Optional shopping centrum. 

Dinner 

Overnight: Prague AMIGO Hotel 4*or 3* hotel 

Day 11: (Wednesday, 12 December 2012) : Prague 

Breakfast. 

Today in Prague is spent at leisure allowing you to further explore this stunning city. 

Evening optional concert in cathedral St.Mikulas or performance in State Opera of PRAGUE 

Fare well lunch or dinner and price giving.

Day 12: (Thursday, 13 December 2012) : Prague 

Breakfast. 

Transport to International Airport Ruziny in Prague. 

Meal will be served on the plane.
